Building
is a complex business requiring orchestration of many people, skills
and
techniques in order to attain one goal: functional
structures. This phrase, used so very often, incorporates many
principles:
1.
good
design: a well designed structure stands out from the rest by virtue
of proportion, deference to the environment and meticulous attention
to detail
2.
use
of proper materials: materials used should not only be appropriate
to their surrounds but also to the needs of their users
3.
knowledge
of the market: much of our work has to do with finding the right
specialist or sub-contractor
4.
participation
of a responsive client: clients’ participation does not stop at
making us know their needs. Through time the office has found that
the establishment of clear lines of communication with the client is
fundamental for the production of functional structures, and
5.
economy
of construction: the fundamental maxim “simple is difficult”
meets its absolute concept on the field of construction.
Since the formation of the office, in 1989, Corfu Developers has
always made functional structures its main concern, with projects
ranging from school buildings to villas and renovation of houses to
restoration of listed buildings.
The practice is led by Alkinoos and Dimitrios Balatsinos who have
been working together for the last five years and are actively
involved with all the projects.
The office considers of great importance the establishment of
uninterrupted communication with the client, since there is usually
a considerable distance to be bridged, both physical and also in
outlook.
